Review: The Maze Runner

Hi, Y'all! Just in case you don't know, my name is Ayodhya. And I'm gonna review the first book of the Maze Runner series I just finished recently. I should say that I thought it wasn’t as bang-up as Harry Potter. But, I decided to read it. It was worth a shot. To my surprise, it’s somehow unpredictably amazing.

It’s about pretty much 50 teen boys, and they're stuck in a super enormous maze which is very hard to solve and highly insidious for more than two years. So, they build a big shack, make a community kitchen, plant plants so they can eat vegetables, manage to divide tasks for every boy, and make a little farm. Until, Thomas and the first girl ever, Teresa come and the maze starts to change. What I mean about change is, it really changes into something that's a lot more hazardous than ever. One boy is killed every day. They believe that they'll be dead eventually, sooner or later. The only way to stay alive is by escaping from the maze. But they've been living in the maze for 2 years and haven't found anything. And Thomas, the newbie realizes how to escape from the maze.

I personally think it’s a page turning book. If you love Harry Potter so much, I suggest you to start read it right now. But, if you just love those lovely parts of Harry Potter at Hogwarts and scared of every part when Voldemort shows up, never read this book. Because it’s highly scary and way full of torture actions and you’ll freak out. Bloods, dying and dead kids, mad psychopaths, blades, arrows are all over the pages.  I’m not exaggerating this time, the books are way more scary than the worst Voldemort’s part. Many parents think that it isn’t good for kids under 12 years old. And, I agree. Also, this book uses harsh and rude words. Most of the main characters are teens and they usually talk rudely. There is a ton of sarcastic swears. But on the other hand, the plot is interesting.

You will always want to know what happens next since you start reading this book. And, every time I read this book I like guessing what will happen next. But, usually I get wrong. Because I can’t sort the characters into good guys, villains and gray characters. All of the characters look like they are two-face and can commit treason anytime. One time you think he is good and another time you’ll think he is traitor. The plot usually twists. But, this book’s worth to give a shot. So, give it a try, and see whether you will be in the corner reading this book all night or this book will be just on your bookcase.
